Study design: Case report
Purpose: To know causes of subretinal hemorrhage and sub retinal exudation in a case of toxoplasma retinochoroiditis
Methods: A 16 year old young female presented with diminution of vision in the right eye since 4 days, her BCVA of the affected was 20/60. The fundus revealed sub retinal exudation in the superotemporal arcade and macula along with the presence of and overlying haemorrhage and skip vasculitis along the superotemporal arcade. She was started on Tab Trimethoprim and Sulphamethoxazole and was reviewed in a week. Patient was improving with anti toxoplasma medications, and as the exudation was resolving, underlying sub retinal haemorrhage became apparent giving rise to suspicion of an inflammatory CNVM or ruptured RAM secondary to kyrieleis arteritis. Intravitreal anti VEGF and clindamycin were injected. Dramatic improvement was seen in terms of improvement in the visual acuity to 20/20, resolution of the sub retinal haemorrhage and exudation.
