Abstract
Migraine is a chronic neurovascular disease caused by vascular dysregulation.Aim:To evaluate macular and peripapillary microvasculature and structural changes in patients of migraine with aura(MA),without aura(MW) and healthy controls(HC) by OCTA Methods:Prospective observational study.100 eyes:16 MA,18 MW and 16 healthy controls.Foveal flux, Foveal avascular zone(FAZ), peripapillary flux and Ganglion cell layer(GCL) were compared.Results:FAZ area in MA(P=0.002) and MW(P=0.007) was significantly larger than in controls. No significant difference between FAZ of MA and MW groups.The macular perfusion in superficial capillary plexus was significantly lower in MA patients,compared to MW(P=0.0018) and HC(P = 0.002).Significant thinning of GCL in MA(P=0.001) compared to HC.Temporal GCL thickness in MW(P= 0.009) was significantly reduced as compared with HC. Conclusion:Studying retinal structural and microvascular parameters in migraine patients can give insight into pathogenesis of migraine
