Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate optic neuropathy cases at a tertiary eye hospital.

Methods: A hospital-based study conducted from April to June 2023 involved detailed history-taking, ophthalmic examinations, and RAPD assessment in patients with vision loss. MRI confirmed optic neuropathy.

Results: Among four optic neuritis patients, two had traumatic optic neuropathy, one had neuromyelitis optica with MOG antibodies, and one had AAION. Treatment with methylprednisolone and oral steroids improved visual acuity.

Conclusion: Optic neuritis, classified by etiology, often benefits from steroid treatment, demonstrating the importance of tailored therapy.
