Abstract

study design – Prospective study
study period -1 year
sample size -10 patients
sampling method – purposive sampling
Purpose -To study the disease course, visual and management outcome of typhoid retinitis.
Results -7 out of 10(70%) had VA > 6/12, 3 out of 10(30%) had VA <6/60 due to recurrence after stoppage of oral steroid,gross macular ischemia,delayed treatment.
conclusion -Typhoid retinitis has a possibility of aggressive course and does not behave like any other post viral retinitis, therefore needs early and longer management for better outcome.
