Abstract

INTRODUCTION
Myopia is one of the causes of impaired visual acuity among school going children and adults. Most commonly retinal degeneration and retinal detachment is seen.
STUDY DESIGN
Prospective Study
METHODS
50 myopic patients were observed. Patient selection for the study was done who had high myopia of at least – 6.00D. A detailed history of the patient, visual acuity assessment, IOP measurement, SLE, colour vision, fundus examination was done.
RESULTS
Highest incidence of pathological myopia was in the age group of 21-30 Years. 4% had the unilateral myopia. Lattice degeneration is the most common degeneration found in the supero temporal quadrant. Posterior staphyloma in 2%,foster fuch in 1%, Choroidal neovascularization in 6% eyes was found.
