FP1858 : Case Report Of Retinitis And Vasculitis With Coat's Like Reaction – A Diagnostic Dilemma

Abstract

Study Design-case report

Purpose- To know etiology and role of investigations to remove diagnostic dilemma in chorioretinitis.

Method- A 47 year old female presented with complain of gradual diminution of vision, pain and redness left eye. On examiantion there was sign of anterior uveitis, chorioretinitis with cystic lesion in retina. She was negative for serological test and routine blood test within normal limit.Cystic mass was tested for fungal culture, PCR for viral and fungal eitology. All test were negative. Then she was put on cotrimoxazole along with steroids and showed improvement in symptoms and sign.
Result- This case presented as chorioretinitis with headlight in fog appearance. On the basis of clinical picture and diagnosis of exclusion, diagnosis of ocular toxoplasmosis made. This was a case of unilateral ocular toxoplasmosis in immunocompetent patient.

Conclusion- All the possible causes of retinitis should be thoroughly investigated for diagnosis and management.
