Abstract

To investigate the causes and risk factors of retinal re-detachment post scleral buckling surgery and management.
METHODS: Retrospective analysis of 15 patients who underwent scleral buckling procedure.
RESULTS : In our study 15 eyes causes included 40% were high myopes pseudophakics(10%). Average time of presentation being around 6 weeks post primary procedure.we found the causes of redetachment in our case series are Posterior vitreous detachment with fresh breaks(33%), Proliferative vitreo retinopathy (20%),intraocular Gas tamponade induced breaks (20%)Displaced buckle(13%) Retinal incarceration (6%) and other causes 13%
