Abstract
Purpose: To determine the pattern of presentations and outcome of keratitis in patients using steroids in viral conjunctivitis.
Study design: case series
Material and methods: Review of 15 patients presented with keratitis and h/o topical steroid use during 3 months with documentation of history, complete ocular and microbiological examination.
Results: All patients presenting with keratitis were using topical steroid post viral conjunctivitis. mean age of patients was seen as 30 years (2-50) presenting size of lesions ranges from 3-5 mm almost all involving of posterior stroma and perforation at time of presentation was seen leading to surgical intervention. All found to have fungal keratitis. Culture was positive in 6 patients (Aspergillus spp). All patients received steroid drops from local pharmacy
