Abstract
STUDY DESIGN: An observational, cross‑sectional study was conducted at LLRM MEDICAL COLLEGE from March 2023 to JUNE 2023.
AIM : To evaluate presence of perilimbal pigmentation (PLP) in diagnosed vernal keratoconjunctivitis cases.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A detailed history and slit‑lamp examination was performed in 31 eyes of subjects age less than 20 years.
RESULTS: Out of total 31 eyes, 23 eyes were of male(74.19%) and 8 were of female(25.80%) and mean age of presentation was 12years with most common age group affected was 11-15 years which was 58% of VKC DIAGNOSED CASES.
Out of total 17 Diagnosed cases of VKC with PLP 16 of them has dot like PLP that’s is 94.11% and only 1 presented with discrete type PLP.
CONCLUSION: PLP is found to be a consistent clinical finding seen in more than half of eyes examined with diagnosed VKC.
