FP1558 : Vision under siege : keratoconus is rising concern in child visual health in Vkc cases.

Abstract

A case study of 10 yr old child who presented to clinic with complaints of itching,conjunctival congestion,burning sensation,foreign body sensation and diminution of vision since 6yrs, on external examination following features are noted;munson’s sign,15 degree esotropia in both eyes,on slit lamp examination papillae,muddy conjunctiva,limbal hypertrophy,fleischer ring present.vision was 6/36in both eyes and vision loss progressed to 6/60in left eye and 6/36in right eye within a month.fundoscopy was within normal limit.corneal topography advised which revealed keratoconus in RE>LE. It highlightes the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate intervention. Timely recognition of vkc is crucial in preventing vision impairment and guiding strategies for affected individuals such as C3R under LA.We aimed to evaluate the association of these two diseases with focus on mechanisms and treatment strategies of keratoconus with vkc to preserve the vision and quality of life of young patients.
