Abstract
Retrospective study
Aim:To correlate AS-OCT features with histopathological findings in conjunctival lesions.
Methods:Records of 33 patients with conjunctival lesions who underwent surgery were evaluated retrospectively.Histopathological features were compared with AS OCT based on epithelial and stromal changes.
Results:Epithelial hyperreflectivity was noted in all 4 cases of papilloma. In 10 patients of dysplasia, epithelial hyper-reflectivity and thickening was noted. Among these,in 3 eyes, stromal involvement could not be commented due to the back shadowing. Both epithelial and stromal hyperreflectivity was noted in dermoid(3)and nevus(3).Only stromal hyperreflectivity was seen in myxoid stromal tumor(1) and amyloidosis(1).In squamous cell carcinoma(6) epithelial hyper reflectivity, thickening and variable hyper reflectivity in stroma was noted. Conclusion:Sensitivity of epithelial and stromal involvement In AS-OCT paralleled histopathological findings is 90.91%and61.54% respectively.
