Abstract

BYNOCS is a comprehensive cloud based dichoptic therapy software for binocular vision assessment & therapy. This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of BYNOCS on visual acuity and stereopsis of amblyopic patients.185 children with anisometropic or ametropic amblyopia & refractive error, aged 4-17 years (mean 8.4 years) underwent BYNOCS therapy(30 sessions) at their homes as amblyopia treatment with informed consent after discontinuing patching. Post therapy, Patients were followed up at 1,4,12,18 & 24 months. Uncorrected & corrected visual acuity with LOGMAR charts & binocular vision test with TNO was measured pre & post BYNOCS therapy. Pre & Post therapy corrected vision of 6/9 was observed in 22.5% & 35% patients respectively (p<0.01). After the therapy, improvement in stereopsis was statistically significant (p=0.05 by McNemar test).
Visual acuity & stereopsis of anisometropic & ametropic amblyopic children improved after BYNOCS & was maintained through 24 months period.
