Abstract
Study design: Prospective, observational, single centre study. Study Purpose: To evaluate the visual outcomes of software based binocular amblyopia therapy (BAT) in amblyopes. Method: Patients undergoing home-based BAT (CureSee ™ vision therapy software) with daily computer based software modulated exercises were enrolled. Monthly evaluations were done till 6/6 vision is attained or 3 months of therapy, whichever was earlier. Visual outcomes data were tabulated and statistical analysis was performed. Results: The study enrolled 42 patients, 4 were excluded due to poor compliance to therapy. 78% (p<0.001) showed significant improvement of visual acuity by 2 Snellens line in 1 month, with 27 patients regaining 6/6 vison post therapy, with significant improvement in stereopsis. Conclusion: BAT demonstrates promising visual outcomes in children and adults, with good visual recovery post therapy, with all enrolled subjects showing improved visual acuity.
