Abstract

This report highlights two instances of localized suprachoroidal hemorrhage (SCH), a rare but formidable complication following phacoemulsification surgery. First case has severe positive pressure on table and second case was uncomplicated. On the first postoperative day, clinical examination of both cases revealed an elevated dome shaped lesion with B-scan displaying a mass lesion with low to moderate internal reflectivity. Fundus Fluorescein Angiography and Indocyanine Green Angiography indicated no intrinsic circulation. Conservative approach was chosen. By postoperative day 14, there was a reduction in size with lesion flattening, corroborated by B-scan demonstrating the absence of an apparent mass lesion, indicative of resolved SCH. These cases underscores the significance of timely recognition, accurate diagnosis and conservative management of localized SCH to avert patient anxiety of a looming intraocular malignancy.
