FP0100 : Factors affecting visual outcome after SFIOL implantation in Aphakic patients.

Abstract

Study Design – A non-randomized retrospective clinical study.
Purpose – to assess the visual outcome after Scleral Fixated Intraocular lens implantation in aphakic patients and factors affecting visual outcome.
Methods – The study was conducted in a tertiary eye care centre and involved retrospective data analysis of hospital medical records of aphakic cases who underwent SFIOL implantation from January 2020 to December 2022. The patient data of aphakia aetiology, pre op BCVA, IOP ,any other ocular pathology were collected and assessed. Data of post treatment residual refractive error, pigmentation over lens, haptic status, centration of lens, complications, IOP were recorded and analyzed.
Results – Out of 34 patients, 30 reported increased visual acuity. The most common intraoperative and postoperative complication was vitreous haemorrhage.
Conclusion – The final visual outcome in SFIOL implantation depends both on anterior and posterior segment pathology.
