Abstract
PURPOSE: To report a case series of patients presenting with conjunctival papilloma, and the need to advocate for screening for other HPV associated lesions in them.
METHOD: Demographic details of patients suspected to have conjunctival papilloma was recorded. Each patient underwent a thorough ocular examination, and underwent excision of the lesion with margin clearance of 2 mm and cryotherapy. Blood work up and histopathological evaluation was conducted for these patients.
RESULT: The biopsies were reported to show folds of stratified squamous epithelium showing acanthosis, with presence of branching papillae without cellular atypia – suggestive of benign squamous papilloma of the conjunctiva. The excised tissue was also tested for presence of HPV DNA.
