FP1587 : Pan sinusitis – presenting as unilateral orbital cellulitis- a case report

Abstract

A 14 year old male was referred from ENT department to Opthalmology opd for ? LE Orbital cellulitis with chief complaints of LE diplopia, protrusion of eye ball with lids swelling, pain, redness since 1 week. On examination diplopia was associated with restricted movement of eyeball with pain on movement, axial protrusion, swelling of upper and lower eyelids ,pain in maxillary area, which is insidious in onset, gradually progressive in nature dull aching and present throughout the day and associated with redness.
LE Digital IOP was hard with axial proptosis+ (25mm) , superficial congestion of conjunctiva. On Fundus examination media was clear with mild Hyperemiac disc. CT orbits showed features suggestive of left orbital sub periosteal abscess. Emergency Septoplasty with FESS and Orbital decompression was done. On culture and sensitivity MRSA was identified and was started on Vancomycin with good response post operatively.
