Abstract
SD-Cross-sectional Observational
P-To compare the time taken to interpret the TNO plates among emmetropes & those having refractive errors
M-Consenting undergraduate students from Medical College of Gujarat were recruited. Detailed history was taken; cycloplegic refraction done for cases with subnormal visual acuity. Stereopsis was assessed using TNO chart and time taken to read plates 1 and 5 was recorded & statistically analyzed
R-Of 393 students,143 were emmetropes & 250 had refractive error. To interpret Plate1, an emmetrope took 15.89±12.54sec while those with refractive error took 17.36±15.32sec which was statistically not significant. To interpret Plate5, an emmetrope took of 20.23±14.83sec while those with refractive error took 28.35±23.39sec. This was statistically significant(p<0.05)
C-The time taken for interpretation of gross stereopsis is not associated with refractive errors. Ametropes take longer time to interpret fine stereopsis plate, even with full correction
