FP2840 : It’s all static: The Mysterious Snow

Abstract

Study Design:
A retrospective analysis of 6 patients with visual snow symptoms seen between June 2022 and July 2023 were included in the study and analyzed.

Purpose:
To identify visual and non-visual complaints in visual snow patients and to provide the appropriate treatment.

Methods:
A detailed neuro ophthalmic evaluation, neuro imaging and additional work up was done. Possible trigger factors were identified and addressed.

Results:
Both visual and non-visual symptoms were seen in all the patients. Male patients were symptomatically better.

Conclusion:
Visual snow can be quite disabling for the patient and can be difficult to treat. We are still far from understanding the pathophysiology of visual snow. The best action we can provide is to support patient adaptation mechanisms.
