Abstract
Study Design- Case series. Purpose- To outline the wide variation in clinical profile and management options of ICE syndrome. Methods- 5 middle-aged patients, 4 female and 1 female, presented to our clinic with diminished vision. After thorough evaluation and investigation, all patients were diagnosed as a subtype of ICE syndrome. The patients were managed according to their individual clinical presentation, ranging from medical to surgical and cyclodestructive procedures. Results- Some patients could be maintained within target IOP on medical management alone, while others achieved poor IOP control despite more aggressive approach. Conclusion- Treatment of ICE syndrome should aim at IOP control with conservative measures to maximum extent. Most patients eventually require surgery, however, rate of failure is high and certain factors should be borne in mind to prolong surgical outcome. Also the increasing prevalence of ICE syndrome in male population must be considered.
