Abstract

Purpose- Clinical manifestation of chemical injury and it's management. Introduction – Chemical eye injury is an acute emergency which can threaten sight and life. The exposure occurs at home,work place and in association with criminal assaults.Alkali injuries occurs mote frequently than acid injuries and it can cause damage by saponification of tissues and deeper penetration.Method- Ocular examinations include VA, BCVA, Slit lamp biomicroscopy, IOP.Results- Chemical injury of the eye produces extensive damage to the ocular surface epithelium, anterior segment . Conclusion – The people working in high risk industries for chemical injuries should wear protective devices.
