Study design :- case series
Purpose :- To present a rare cases of sympathetic ophthalmia post blunt trauma to eye
Use of Oct macula for diagnosis and follow up
Methods :- case 1 :- 40 yr male complained of sudden diminution of vision in Le since 1 wk , history of blunt trauma to right eye 20yrs back with ball
On examination
RE :- vision PL Negative prephthisical eye
LE mild anterior segment reaction +0.5 cells with retrolental flare 1+ , fundus shows blurred disc with macular edema with retinal folds
Case 02 :- 37 yrs mle with complaints of sudden diminution of vision in Le since 3 days , history of blunt trauma with ball to Re with scleral tear repair 20yrs back
On examination Right eye shows 360 degree posterior synechiae with traumatic cataract
LE shows 0.5+ Ac cells with Disc margin blurring and macular edema Treated with 3 dose IVMP followed by oral steroids and methotrexate
Results – On 6mon followup
Both cases vision improved drastically with subsidence of SRF In OCT
