Abstract
Methods: We retrospectively collected demographic, clinical data of all patients attended emergency department having canalicular eyelid laceration between 2010-2023 .Demographic and clinical Data collected in pretested format & statistical analyses done using SPSS22.
Results: A total of 43 patients studied for lid laceration with median age 27 y and median follow up 44 days. 20(46.5%) were from paediatric age group and 8(18.6%) were toddlers (0-6) Male preponderance 79.1%, 58.1% in RE, while 34.1 % have upper lid, lower lids in 79.1 % Both lids in 9.3%, Most were due to cattle horn 18.6% Blouse hook responsible in 19% toddlers. 34.9% underwent lid repair with canalicular intubation 30.2 % Canalicular repair.4.9 % had associated intraocular injuries.
Conclusion: Canalicular injuries are relatively less common with mechanical injuries but can be managed well with early intervention.
