Abstract
This retrospective study was performed among patients of traumatic wound dehiscence after keratoplasty coming in emergency department of a tertiary eye care centre of Andhra Pradesh state in South India during the period of COVID 19 lockdown in the year 2020. Out of the 10 patients, 7 (70%) were males and 3 (30%) were females.5 patients had injury during household work, 2 patients had injury due to fall, 1 patient had injury with bike handle and 2 patients had injury due to road traffic accident. Average time between the injury and the surgery was 48 hours (2 days).Damage to the lens or intraocular lens was seen in 5 patients, vitreous loss in 6 patients and retinal involvement/detachment was noted in 3 patients.Final visual acuity was found to correlate inversely with the severity and extent of wound separation.
