Abstract
Study Design- A single centre retrospective study.
Purpose- To see if innovative flow diagrams of Supranuclear Gaze Palsies help to improve the understanding of Optometry students.
Methods- The topic Supranuclear Gaze Palsies was taught in the standard way and a written test was taken. The same topic was taught as before with the aid of original flow diagrams and a separate written test taken.
Results- Simple mean comparisons on the average test scores in the two examination treatment conditions were conducted. A one-tailed t-test revealed that the students scored significantly higher marks after the novel teaching technique.

Conclusion- This inventive technique should be used to teach Optometry students this particular topic. It could also be adapted to teach other topics as well.
