FP2878 : The anterior chamber angle parameters in eyes with PACD. The Central India Angle Closure Study.

Abstract

Study design: Observational hospital-based study.
Purpose: To study the anterior chamber angle parameters in eyes with PACD in Central India.
Methods: 121 eyes of 66 subjects (28 PACS, 18 PAC, 75 PACG) were studied. Biometric parameters, angle opening distance (AOD), and Trabecular iris space area (TISA) at 500µ were studied with AS-OCT.
Results: The mean age and IOP were 57.98±8.2 years and 24.12±13.70 mmHg, respectively. The mean lens thickness (LT) and lens vault (LV) were 4.80±0.36mm and 0.94±0.27mm, respectively. In bivariate analysis, AOD 500 nasal and temporal were significantly correlated to aqueous depth (P<0.001; r=0.452, P<0.001; r=0.535 and with LV (P<0.001; r=-0.422, P<0.001;r=-0.501) respectively. TISA 500 nasal and temporal were also correlated with AQD (P<0.001; r=0.249, P<0.001; r=0.439) and with LV (P<0.001; r=-0.297, P<0.001; r=- 0.452) respectively.
Conclusions: AOD and TISA are significantly influenced by LV and AQD, leading to primary angle closure disease.
