FP1929 : Association between Glaucoma medication usage and Dry Eye Disease.

Abstract

PURPOSE: To evaluate the incidence of Dry eye in patients using anti glaucoma medication. STUDY DESIGN: Observational study. PARTICIPANTS: Fifty patients of glaucoma on topical medication compared with the control group of same age group. METHOD: We identified patients with glaucoma on anti glaucoma medications. The study included fifty patients of glaucoma. The control were fifty people age matched not on any topical medications. The following parameters were considered – sex(M/F), Age(35-49, 50-64, and >65 years). Examinations performed were – tear meniscus, Schirmer’s test, TBUT, conjunctival and corneal stains. CONCLUSION: An increased incidence of Dry eye was observed in patients taking anti glaucoma medication.
