Abstract

Study Design: Retrospective study
Purpose:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Ripasudil in patients with uncontrolled Intraocular pressure(IOP),using the maximum medical therapy.
Methods:52 patients(81 eyes),satisfying the criteria were included. Ripasudil 0.4% was added as adjunctive therapy to the ongoing glaucoma therapy.On follow‑up visits at 15 days,1 month,2 months,3 months and 6 months,the visual acuity,IOP with applanation tonometer,anterior segment, and fundus were evaluated.The IOP before and after the use of drug was compared by paired t‑test.
Results: A statistically significant reduction in IOP was noted at all visits(P< 0.00001) with all patients achieving their target IOP.Conjunctival hyperemia(n=34)was the most common adverse event,which was mild and transient.No serious side effect,necessitating the discontinuation of drug was noted.
Conclusion: Ripasudil added to the IOP lowering effect of other antiglaucoma medications and exhibited no significant side effects.
