Abstract
Purpose: To demonstrate the efficacy of IFN alpha 2b as a monotherapy for immunoreduction in extensive lesions (diameter > 20mm or > 6 clock hours)
Method::A 67y/M presented with a diffuse gelatinous lesion involving > 6clock hours of cornea and conjunctiva. The patient was started on eyedrop IFN alpha2b 4 times a day in the left eye. On subsequent follow-ups, progressive areas of clearing of lesion was noted. At 12 wks, the patient had no clinically visible lesion with regression of vascularisation. The was further continued on the same treatment for 2 months to prevent recurrence
Result: At 12 weeks, we noticed complete regression of vascularisation with no clinical evidence of the lesion.
