FP2052 : A case report of blinding consequences of ocular surface damage in stevens johnson syndrome

Abstract

History:
A 25 year old female patient presented with chief complaints of loss of vision, Foreign body sensation associated with redness, pain since 4 months. The patient was treated with intravenous medications for fever 6 months back. No diurnal variation, No aggravating/ relieving factors, No pain, watering, discharge.

Examination:
Both eyes vision: HM+ PL+ PR4+
Both eyes: UL& LL keratinization, conjunctival congestion, central corneal scar and thinning with pseudo-cornea formation, highly distorted anterior segment anatomy.
Investigations:
TBUT <2 seconds
Schirmer test: RE- 3 mm, LE- 2 mm at the end of 5 minutes
Management:
Both eyes keratoplasty with SLET with amniotic membrane grafting with oral mucosal grafting with tarsorrhaphy with post operative lubrication was advised to the patient.
