Abstract
Inspite of being a small organ, the eyelids contain numerous histological elements that can be the origin of various benign and malignant lesions. The various types of glands present in the eyelid also predispose it to the formation of lid masses. Here I present a series of 5 cases which were presumed to be something else but turned out to be histopathological surprises. Moreover benign lesions needs to be differentiated from premalignant/malignant lesions for better prognosis. This free paper substantiates the collaboration between the Ophthalmologist, Pathologist and Dermatologist in diagnosis of certain rare lid lesions.
