Abstract
Purpose : To describe a case of Psuedomonas aeroginosa keratitis which presented with multiple corneal ulcers
Methods : 45 year female with history of contact lens use presented with decreased vision , pain, photophobia in Left eye since 4 days . Vision in left eye was finger counting 1 metre .Slit lamp examination showed circumciliary congestion with 3 ulcerative lesions 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm each over Left Cornea at 12 , 1 and 7 o clock. Indirect Ophthalmoscopy showed normal findings . Corneal scrape were sent for Gram stain and culture.
Results: Corneal scrape cultured Pseudomonas keratitis with sensitivity to Ceftazidime.Patients was started on Fortified Ceftazidime eyedrop 1 hourly in Left eye and eye ointment Atropine twice a day.
Patient showed rapid response to local treatment and ulcers healed completely with vision improved to best corrected visual acuity of 6/9.
Conclusion: Pseudomonas keratitis with multiple lesions is rare, but not impossible.
