Abstract
Purpose: To assess the efficacy of topical Nepafenac in reversing visually significant corneal cloudiness in children with CHED.
Methods: A prospective, placebo-controlled, paired-eye study of 40 eyes from 20 children with CHED under 10 years old. Topical Nepafenac was administered to study eyes, while contralateral eyes received preservative-free lubricant. Evaluations included visual acuity, refraction, densitometry, and corneal morphometry analysis.
Results: No statistically significant difference was observed between the test and control groups in BCVA, CCT, average K, CD at central 2mm, and overall CD (p>0.05) at post 6 months. No discernible clearing of corneal clouding was noted clinically, and densitometry changes were not statistically significant.
