Abstract
A 20-year-old male presented with a large capillary hemangioma that resulted in retinal detachment. To treat the condition, a pars plana vitrectomy was performed, and the tumor was removed en-block with localized chorioretinectomy. Bleeding from the feeder vessel was successfully managed by judicious endo-cautery. The chorioretinectomy was then surrounded by three to four rows of endo-laser photocoagulation. A silicone oil endo-tamponade was used to keep the retina attached. After the procedure, the patient's visual acuity improved, and the retina remained attached. The video demonstrates the technique used to perform en-block resection, manage bleeding and perform chorioretinectomy to treat this complex condition.
