Abstract
57 Year female presented to us with decrease of vision right eye since 1 year . Both eye cataract surgery history was there. Right eye retina exam showed myopic chorioretinal degeneration with Myopic Traction maculopathy. At time of presentation her vision right eye was 1.1 log units. Patient underwent vitrectomy with double staining using Brilliant blue and Trypan and ILM peeling and C3F8 tamponade. Vision improved to 0.5 log units 3 months post surgery.
This case highlighted use of double staining to stain ILM and ERM in difficult macular surgery cases like myopic traction maculopathy. Axial length of right eye of this patient was 30.65 mm, hence ports were placed more posteriorly to reach posterior pole. The results of this surgery highlights why surgery should be performed in tractional maculopathy cases rather than observation.
