Abstract
The purpose of this video is to report surgical result in gaucher disease .
Synopsis: A 16-year-old female patient with gaucher disease presented with blurred vision in both eyes.
Her BCVA in right eye was 20/200 & 20/100 in the left eye. Fundus evaluation revealed extensive vitreous deposits with ERM. OCT confirmed the presence of deposits in the vitreous cavity & on retina.
She underwent PPV with ERM removal. Tranconjunctival 23-G PPV was done to the extent possible. Vitreous deposits was tried to removed with multiple instruments as it was very fluffy. Brilliant blue dye was used to stain ILM. ERM and ILM was cleared from macular area. Cassette fluid was sent for histopathological examination.
At postoperative 1 week: her visual acuity improved to 20/125 in right eye. Fundus picture showed cleared macular area. OCT showed reduced deposits over retina. Histopathological examination showed crumpled barre like cytoplasm with oval nucleus in hemorrhagic background.
