Abstract

This video presentation highlights crucial techniques for inducing Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD) in challenging retinal surgical scenarios. It emphasizes precision and expertise, especially in vitreomacular pathologies, pediatric cases, and diabetic tractional detachments. Specialized methods, like high magnification for PVD induction and the use of Intravitreal Triamcinolone Acetonide and Brilliant Blue G for vitreous visualization, are showcased. The video addresses challenging situations, including dislocated lens and retinal detachments, stressing the importance of precise PVD induction. In pediatric cases, techniques involving use of perfluorocarbon liquid are presented. For diabetic vitrectomy, managing the adherent posterior hyaloid is discussed.
