Abstract
Dr.Mona Bhargava
Phacoemulsification is the standard of care for cataract surgery, it may require modifications and additional considerations in cases of coexisting corneal pathologies.Appropriate preoperative measures such as careful and thorough assessment of the ocular surface, adequate biometry, aids and techniques to improve visualization during phacoemulsification, use of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, or incorporating intraoperative optical coherence tomography (OCT) for real-time imaging can help improve outcomes in these challenging cases.Optimization improves the chances of successful cataract removal and also enhances the postoperative visual outcomes and overall patient satisfaction.
