Abstract

Purpose: To compare parameters of ocular biometry to aid clinician in identifying the best possible method for measuring IOL/ICL .
Study design: 200 healthy eyes were assessed by 4 different techniques for central corneal thickness: Pentacam, IOL master 700, AS OCT and Specular microscopy and were assessed for ACD, WTW and K values using Pentacam and IOL master 500. ICL sizing was done using parameters of IOL master only, Pentacam only and combination of Digital callipers and both biometers. post op vault sizing was assessed.
Results: Differences of Mean CCT were statistically significant between all the 4 techniques of investigation. Pentacam and IOL Master have the closest agreement, according to Bland-Altman plots and specular microscopy had the poorest agreement. In terms of ACD and mean K values no statistical difference was noted. WTW however appeared to be significantly different. Adequate ICL sizing was achieved in 90% where combination was used than a single biometry.
