Abstract
Purpose : Demonstrating effective strategies in managing rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with a concomitant large ciliary staphyloma, highlighting challenges and successful interventions.
Methods: Describing a case of a 32-year-old female presenting at the department of Retina and Vitreous, Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli with ciliary staphyloma secondary to Rhinosporidiosis and subsequent rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, detailing the decision to excise the staphyloma with scleral graft placement to facilitate retinal detachment repair.
Results: Attainment of a successful anatomical outcome post-surgery with a well-settled retina.
